The BYO Guide web site is the only guide of its kind, reporting to you
the "what's hot" in this fast-growing BYO category of the restaurant world.
Our little subdivision of the restaurant industry, while still a minority, has
truly begun to take its place and be judged on the merits on which all restaurants
should be judged: quality and service. It is through the efforts of the BYO
restaurateur pioneers who are creating alternative establishments and by doing
so saying loud and clear that a BYO kitchen is not less because it doesn't have
a liquor license.
When you enter most BYOs, there is a feeling that you cannot always identify. The
feeling is one of relaxation and friendliness. Maybe it's there because when entering
a BYO, you are bringing something along, just like when you visit friends at their
home. Or maybe it's the warm attitude of most BYO restaurateurs when they greet
you at the door. Whatever the reason, it's there. Take advantage of it. Try a new
spot tonight.

We have made every effort to ensure that the information presented here is true,
accurate and up to the minute. But we are human, and so are all these
restaurateurs: they can change their minds - and their policies - about hours and
forms of service. Or, sadly for us, they can acquire a liquor license. So if you
are trying a restaurant listed here for the first time, we strongly urge you to call
ahead to verify times of service and to confirm that the restaurant is still a
BYO establishment.
